Programme Manager
Background: NPA has worked in Angola since 1989 and are one of the largest international humanitarian organisations in Angola with around 300 locally employed staff. The country program consists of two component, Mine action and Development programme. The development work is mainly implemented through local partners with focus on organisational development, land rights, gender equality and women’s participation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the development and management of the NPA development programme and budgets
• Supervise and monitor programme staff as required
• Contribute to competence building and sharing of knowledge with national staff and co-operating partners
• Liaise and co-ordinate NPA development activities with project partners, local and national authorities, UN agencies and relevant national and international NGOs and CBOs.
• Provide updated reports and plans/budgets to the RR, HQ, donors and relevant partners
•Planning, implementation, follow up and monitoring of projects
Qualifications:
• Relevant higher education and/or working experience
• Written and verbal proficiency in English
• Knowledge of Portuguese preferred.
• Knowledge Angola preferred
• Experience in negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Minimum 5 years relevant working experience, preferably internationally
• Personal ability to work under constraints in a different social-cultural environment and to cope with complex political situations on a regular basis
• Experience from intl. development work, preferably from working with local partners and civil society and gender.
• Experience from financial management, budgetary work and personnel management
• Computer skills
• Good physical and mental health
• Fundraising skills
